With concerns people in Sydney and beyond are feeling more confident to test public health orders this weekend even as key vaccination thresholds are not reached, police will be deployed to public places to ensure compliance with rules.
Gatherings in Greater Sydney are still restricted under public health orders. Groups of five fully vaccinated adults can gather in outdoor public spaces, along with any number of children aged 12 or under, within five kilometres of their homes. They must be able to present proof of their vaccination status, or an exemption via a medical contraindication certificate, if requested by a police officer.
People not fully vaccinated can attend outdoor gatherings in public locations with one other person and participate in outdoor recreation with people with whom they live.
Social gatherings in homes, excepting “singles’ bubble” and “friends’ bubble” visits, are still prohibited.
